Acupuncture is used to regulate and restore the balance of the body in order to assist and accelerate the healing process. It is based on traditional Chinese theories; the flow of qi (energy) and blood through meridians or pathways that cover the body, somewhat like nerves and blood vessels. According to this theory, when one or more of these pathways is blocked, illness pursues… or when there is an imbalance of energy, illness follows.

Acupuncture is the insertion of fine needles into the body at specific points shown to be effective in the treatment of many health conditions. The Chinese have recorded these points over a period of two thousand years. In recent times, many scientific studies have established the validity of acupuncture. The National Institute of Health (NIH) and the World Health Organization (WHO) acknowledge that acupuncture treatment can effectively treat a wide array of acute and chronic conditions. Furthermore, acupuncture is known to provide effective healthcare that results in a healthier well being.

Cupping

Cupping is a method of creating a vacuum on the patient's skin to dispel stagnation (stagnant blood and lymph), thereby improving qi flow, in order to treat acute and chronic and acute pain, respiratory diseases such as the common cold, pneumonia and bronchitis, etc.

While many patients experience immediate improvement in their symptoms, both subjectively and objectively, multiple sessions are generally required for the maximum health-inducing benefits of acupuncture, as the process of improving vital energy flow in the body is gradual and gentle.
